How to find your calm?
When the body is rife with tension for a prolonged time; the network of arteries and veins may become compromised, affecting the heart and circulation as a whole. Observing your blood pressure when exercising and throughout many daily events is helpful. For example, my blood pressure increases when I exert myself or am stressed; my heart rate slows down when I relax.
The most effective way to reduce blood pressure systemically is to make the rhythm and tempo of breath prolonged, slow, and featherlike. Direct kindness toward yourself, making the following supplication:
"May I be free from physical pain,
may I be free from psychological holding,
may I be free from emotional suffering,
and may I be spiritually awake."
Besides affirmations give a try one of the guided loving kindness meditations to induce calm and lower blood pressure while promoting tender feelings of self-acceptance. You can find one in the member area as well as under podcasts.
Create your own meter meditation:
“May I be safe & loved. May I be…”
